    Sounds crazy, but I live in the Midwest, specifically a state that discriminates against trans people. There is a very strong solidarity between Muslims, LGBTQ, and disabled people in the communities I’m in. In fact, many have told me about how there were trans people in their countries of origin before America brought over textbooks to the region. There’s a strong understanding that at the end of the day, we’re being discriminated against for the same reasons by the same people.

    American politics is a disease that many other places in the world are falling ill to.
