I’ll bite, and play the devils advocate. Are there any stress fractures on the pad itself? Simply having the meat isn’t enough; need to ensure it’s still working as intended.

That said, I do agree that there are honest people out there that must follow policy and they will recommend whatever their bosses tell them is necessary.

This is the price you pay to have that fancy warranty. I got the extended warranty because it was a no brainier, but I’m planning to maintain the car myself because I plan to keep it a lot longer than 100k.

After a 120k even the dealer doesn’t know WTF to do other than to try and sell you a new car.

Toyota usually doesn’t die unless the user something stupid. Keep putting in fresh oil at recommended intervals and fix whatever items get worn like tires, brakes and coolant.

Wow, I’m surprised your car could stop at all when it was missing 1mm of the pads. Check your rotors too they may be completely even with no lipping.

That’s one pad. What do the others look like? I probably wouldn’t even change them if they all look like that, but since you’ve got it all apart you may as well.

I’m more concerned about the uneven wear across to face, should replace or clean and re-grease the slide pins, wire wheel and grease contact points as well

Dealerships are such a scam, they are extremely politically active though so they are here to stay unfortunately. I would legislate them into obsolescence.

I don’t think ive gotten an oil change at a dealership where they didn’t recommend brake pads, ( I do them myself) even a few weeks after I throw a new set on. When they print out your inspection sheet I think it is just added in there automatically. Makes me wonder how many people do brake pads every couple of months
