Get rid of FFP, and create a salary cap with a luxury tax, where all the excess spend gets sent to the lower clubs. It’s the only way that these small teams might be able to compete someday.

Seems the FA is doing everything in their power to destroy the Premier League

This sounds very La Liga and a wonderful way to kill off what’s left of the competitiveness of the league.

It’s not right. Talk about killing off your product. The greatest thing about the premier league is the unpredictability due to good competition.

u/TheTelegraph is an account who’s only role is to post Telegraph articles on subs like r/soccer and here. I don’t understand why this doesn’t break rules around self promo because its clearly a corporate account and doesn’t contribute to the site in any typical way that is usually required i.e. comments and conversations with other users

Edit - to add, so whilst other users who genuinely want to contribute to the sub might see an interesting article and post it for discussion, the Telegraph account simply posts every article without further thought or analysis. The former is people who understand the interests of the sub and exercising their judgment to share things that would be of interest, the latter is just spam posting

Great to see we’re following the La liga model and ditching everything that made this the best league in the world

Gotta make sure whatever they end up fining city, city earns right back.

This is so dumb. England is competitive because of this. Stop making it easier for top clubs to stay on top.

People need to realise what a large factor behind our collapse was.

We did well, and we wanted to continue to do well and even improve, so we spent more money and paid higher wages, we continued to do well so spent more money and paid higher wages, the amount we was spending fell within FFP but only if we qualified for Europe.

Then we didn’t qualify for Europe and all of a sudden FFP was after us because our spending was too high, FFP is there to kill you the ONE season where you don’t perform so well, forcing you to sell key players or shrink your squad, which in effect played a large role in killing us
