I know someone who got just the regular 992 Turbo because the carbon ceramic brakes annoyed him in his 991 Turbo S.

Those are problems I would like to have…

Another person I know had the problem that he wasn’t able to get his GT3 Touring new, so he had to buy it used (with like 500km)… it wasn’t in the paint he wanted the most :(

The most distinct difference besides the badge are the brakes. The regular Turbo comes with steel brakes as standard while the S features the carbon ceramics from factory. So if it had ‘small’ brakes with red or black calipers, it was a non-S.

Apart from that, if the owner didn’t order sports-exhaust, the quad exhaust-tips on a Turbo are finished in chrome, the ones on the S are finished in black.

most likely a standard turbo. a turbo s comes with center lock wheels (you can option 5 lug wheels, but why pay extra to get lugs when you can get center locks).

Have a gts and had to choose between centerlocks vs 5 lugs and I specc’d lugs because if you have a flat could get screwed since many places don’t have the specialized equipment to remove centerlocks and put them back on.

I can tell we both have/had centerlocks, because this is my same sentiment. People who have never owned them think they’re the best thing since sliced bread.

Once you do, you realize how much extra effort it takes to do tire changes, patches, even some services.
