Rented a parking space in Brooklyn and thought I had room turning onto the ramp exiting the garage. Railing swiped the side of the car. First day bringing it back and pretty annoyed about it.

Wanted to hear some opinions on how much people think this should be around to fix up. Dealership going to give me a quote from body shop but wanted to here some opinions here as well.

Sorry to say it’ll never be the same with that much quarter damage in a spot like where it is; def go insurance and if ur worried about ur premium going up then u had no business buying into a Porsche in the first place

Just take it to a good independent body repair shop - I’m in the uk but having front and rear bumpers repaired (dents and scratches) and re sprayed for just over £1000, 20k is madness! I don’t think you need new panels.

All these people talking about taking it Porsche lol all you’ll most likely need here is a REAL professional detailer with a shop.

You can also see how deep it is by using a microfiber towel with brake fluid. It’ll be fine on paint just wash it off after but doing this should clean up some of the scratches at least.

I used to do auto body work. You can find wholesale auto body pricing around $300-$400 per panel. Retail should be $800-$900 per panel. I almost fell over when I read $20,000. There are Macans you can purchase used for that amount. Best of luck!

22k is a cost of used 996. To replace body panels for this is idiotic price. Shouldnt insurance cover it?

A little surprised with the 20k quotes but I guess it’s possible. Yeah insurance should. I don’t see a reason why they shouldn’t.

Why is everyone so sure all panels need to be replaced? This looks like it can be repaired instead of replaced, should be done for 5k

Get a quote. From a top rated shop on google that is not a dealer and local to you. Tell them it’s not through insurance.

I had great success with a reasonable quote when I bumped my hood into a ford F150 at 5km/hr.
