I wonder will Mozilla be accepting cash in return for adding a domain to their ‘quarantine’ or direct bank transfer only?

Or am I being too cynical?

Any time I hear about browser addons being removed I automatically assume it’s about ad blocking

This update doesn’t seem to remove any add-ons specifically but turns them off on more sensitive websites if Mozilla has not reviewed them.

It does look like there is an about:config option to turn it off, however it looks like this is most likely to be for bank websites etc. and only for add-ons not reviewed by Mozilla.

Currently, at least, ublock origin and most of the bigger adblock add-ons are reviewed by Mozilla and shouldn’t be affected

I did read that there would be an option to disable that behaviour, but did not know ublock origin and other adblock addons are reviewed by Mozilla.

To be honest, I didn’t know Mozilla reviewed any addons at all. I’ve always assumed it was the wild west. I suppose I’d never thought about it.
