I should really watch Babylon 5 sometime. Instead I keep rewatching old Star Treks. Maybe this new animated production will convince me to watch the previous TV series. Assuming you don’t need to have seen everything for this to make sense.

So I always tell people to watch the first season all the way through before you judge it. It can be hard to get through the first few episodes for various reasons, but if you can make it to the end of the first season without getting hooked. It might not be the show for you.

Yes you really should. Babylon 5 is way up there among the best SciFi TV shows ever.

It has a lot more depth and scope than most, and the characters really grow over time IMO.

B5 nerds will get mad, but watch the original with a skiplist.

B5 is great, but really uneven and has some corny bits. If you find it compelling after a bit of watching, ditch the skiplist and just watch it all from there out.

According to J Michael Straczynski’s tweet*, this is “totally separate and apart” from the B5 reboot, which I’m also thrilled about.

I was so excited about the Babylon 5 being in the spotlight again, but… the only thing I hate more than parallel universes trope, are reboots. A prequel depicting the minbari war would’ve been much better choice.
