House Speaker Mike Johnson had no idea Representative Ken Buck is quitting, as the GOP is in complete shambles.

    The retiree, ken buck, said:

“It is the worst year of the nine years and three months that I’ve been in Congress,” [the house is] “dysfunctional” and the “worst year in 40, 50 years.”
“Instead of having decorum, instead of operating in a professional manner, this place has just devolved into this bickering and nonsense and not really doing the job for the American people.”

That’s a member of the freedom caucus, who said he was retiring in november and then lolol jk’d that by saying he was out next week, complaining about dysfunction, bickering and nonsense.

Imagine getting a majority in midterms and completely fucking it all up before the next midterms. Shambles indeed.

A significant portion of Nikki Haley supporters were republican never-trumpers, so I think the wheels may be coming off. Sure 2/3ds of the party are still Maga sycophants, but trump doesn’t really have the spare votes to lose at this point. Killing roe HURT them, and proving their dysfunctionality in the house definitely turned off any republican with critical thinking skills.

Expect she’ll endorse him before November, and / or the majority of those “never trumpers” to find some way to justify voting for trump by then.

You can’t watch someone say, “If we nominate Trump we will get destroyed and we will deserve it,” and spin around and gobble his knob, and expect any consistency from them. Anyone who still considers themselves a Republican at this point is looking for their way to justify voting trump.

This. At the end of the day, these people treat the Republican party like their primary religion. They will say whatever keeps eyes off them so they can do stuff without criticism, but once they’re in the ballot box, it’s going to be really hard for them to leave that spot blank, let alone to vote for Biden.

And before her they supported trump but now he’s too icky. Before trump they supported bush2 all the way through Iraq and the economy collapsing, then voted for trump. Before that bush 1 and before that reagan and nixon.

          https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/jan/09/facebook-posts/many-more-criminal-indictments-under-trump-reagan-/

142 indictments in republican admins vs 2 in dem admins.

The party is rotten. Their politics are harmful and toxic. Their policy like their legislation is non-existent. But they’ll still find the suckers.
