It started off shaky, but I was able to stabilize, and even become relatively productive.

I got a webserver and some other stuff set up and configured on my laptop so I can finally start learning php and sql.

I first tried to learn php when I was 18, and now I’m in my 40’s, but better late than never!

Hopefully I can keep this momentum going for a while 💜

Yay! I know you can keep it going, I believe in you! And you are so right about “better late than never.” I switched careers in my late 30s, and I’m loving my early 40s now. It’s never too late to do something enjoyable or useful.

Terrible. I just realized that I applied to multiple jobs with a typo in my resume. I’ve been agonizing over my applications and my resume for months now. I’ve been re-writing it, re-organizing it, going over everything with a fine tooth comb. However, I somehow missed the typo in the email. I started a new address centered on career stuff with a signature and my name in it. However, the ending is not a .com and it was easy to mistype. Now I’m on the verge of tears because I’m pretty sure this world is unforgiving with stuff like that.

Crap, I’m sorry you missed a typo, your frustration is very understandable and very relatable (I have also submitted resumes with typos in the past and felt awful as a result). I hope you can find some grace for yourself, you are human after all, and with ADHD, too.

For what it’s worth, when I was a recruiting manager, and we needed people, a single typo would not have put them out of the hiring pool. If they had the qualifications, they would have gotten an interview and judged on that. But of course that’s industry and company-dependent.

      Sending you hugs.
