    ‘but China is authoritarian you see. I’m not a fan of the US, but if China has nothing to hide, why not let the CIA operate there? Both sides do this. Did you see China might be spying on us through our coffee makers? You guys are CCP bots!’

    Good.

    I knew an agent once. They would be rather cavalier about times they had to decide whether to assassinate a world leader, as if it were some sort of game. But when they spoke of China’s counter-espionage efforts around 2010, their expression was aghast and they spoke of the desperation to get their agents home by smuggling them in shipping containers.

    Best of luck to the CPC in continuing to strike fear into the hearts of the CIA.
