I’d say you should! :D. Voivod is such a unique band! Each album has a different vibe, yet always clearly Voivod. From pure thrash to prog to their version of wave-rock, it’s all there.

      My recommendations:
-Killing Technology (thrash with sci-fi vibe)
-Dimensiön Hatröss (still thrash, more sci-fi, enter prog)
-War And Pain (first album, LOUD, pre-thrash, great nuclear atmosphere)
-Nothingface (more prog, even more sci-fi, mind-blowing structure!)
-Angel Rat (rock/wave, psychedelic, needs a lot of plays to get used to)
-The Outer Limits (prog/psychedelic, Jack Luminous!)

      *Rrröööaaarrr
(I was disappointed with this one. It’s the most thrash of all, but kinda feels like it should have been better. It has great moments, but the guitars are too far back in the mix, drums are overriding everything. Song-structure needed more work. But it’s very aggressive! Like Venom on actual speed!)

Then there’s the Negatron/Phobos era, different singer, but still good. Thrash with industrial vibes. Phobos my fav of the two.

After that, guitarist Piggy died. Such a loss. Three albums with his last riffs, less thrash, less prog, more rock’n’roll. I love that the band honoured him with these farewells, but the tracks are not great. Oh, and Jason fucking Newsted played bass on these albums! He basically kept the band alive during this period, imho.

Then the latest period, with new guitarist Chewy and bassplayer Rocky.
I love them, but for me the albums don’t reach the hights of their older albums. They do go back to them, musically (thrashy prog), but I miss something, it feels a bit flat, acting it instead of living it…

But have a great time exploring! ;)
