In Indonesia we started the decade with A New Hope but our Luke Skywalker became the Emperor paving the way for Empire Strikes Back, turning the middle (photoshopped) cover into reality.

A set of three Time magazine covers from 2014. First one features the recently elected President Joko Widodo, middle one is a photoshopped version with defeated rival Prabowo Subianto (who is now President), and the third features Basuki T. Purnama, Jokowi’s then deputy and successor as Jakarta Governor, also photoshopped on the cover. The text on the Jokowi cover says A New Hope. For Prabowo it’s Empire Strikes Back, for Basuki it’s Return of the Jedi.
