It’s a shame it ended the way it did. I hope in some way shape or form he can make his way back to Old Trafford at some stage to have a proper send off

It’d be criminal if he wasn’t given a testimonial of some sort. The man kept us relevant single handedly for a few seasons and I remember people telling me that 18m was crazy money for a keeper and he’d never be worth that. Turns out he was worth more than that per season at some points, and I doubt he’ll ever get the credit he really deserves for that.

Yes and earned it for carrying us as long as he did.

I’m not arguing he’s underpaid mate… Just that I don’t think he’ll get the recognition he deserves for us

I getcha, it was meant in a joking manner. It really is a shame how this has been handled, he’s been professional throughout his career and as you stated single handedly kept us relevant. It’s sad seeing the last remnant of the SAF era leave (alongside Jones) and it’s just abrupt. He really deserved a farewell in our last game at Old Trafford.

Ah fair enough, I guess I’m just that used to people shitting on him for his wages, and people do seem to overlook his importance when that contract was signed.

But yes agree with everything you’ve written, very badly handled by the club and I pray he gets one more outing in a united shirt to say goodbye (and allow us to say thanks!) in the coming years.
