Currently most discussing and organizing is happening on Discord.
Si vous ne boycottez pas l’usage de discord ou whats app. I do
Think of “libertarian socialism” in contrast to the more common (authoritarian) socialism. As I understand, Libertarian Socialism is a very broad umbrella that covers ideologies promoting non-coercive, cooperative societies (e.g. all the actual forms of anarchism, solarpunk).
When you hear most people speak of socialism they typically mean some form or fusion of authoritarian socialism – state forced cooperative society.
These are in contrast of course to the coercive and exploitative based societies (capitalism, etc) currently found in virtually every state.
edit: I meant this as a response to a comment but oh well
Also, fuck Discord it’s corporate trash
Can someone Eli5 to me how libertarianism and socialism fit together?
Libertarianism in the US sometimes (most prominently even, with the Libertarian Party) refers to fully deregulated etc capitalism but more generally means something more like anarchism, a left wing ideology.
Anarchocapitalism is an oxymoron and anarchists do not count it as anarchism.
5ier: Its the idea that the personalized power of both economic and social rulers should be minimized. Neither inheriting a factory nor inheriting a title of nobility should give you power over me.
Libertarian socialism = “we never experienced real socialism”
Anarchocapitalism = “we never experienced real capitalism”
… no? Generally and historically speaking, anarchists can expect to be murdered by the more authority-oriented flavors of leftists at the first semi-convenient point in time. There’s the Kronstadt rebellion or civil war era Spain, as examples.
And where exactly did I disagree with that?
