Every time you patronize Chick-fil-A, some of that money you’re spending is given by Chick-Fil-A’s owners, The Cathys which they use to fund violent and deadly “christian” anti homosexuality legislation in the third world, after decades of doing the same exact thing in the US, which sees LGBTQ in Africa, Asia, and South America tortured and brutally murdered just for being gay. They’ve been doing this for decades.

No chicken sandwich is worth the abuse and murder of gay people. Why don’t you know this, and if you do know, why don’t you care?

I just came to say I also couldn’t look past the brand on these sauces… Like, that’s a lovely story about a cute kitten/cat, but that restaurant has done awful things to innocent human beings.

Edit: Oh, important addition: Chickfilet directly donated company profits to the anti-lgbtq groups, including those with ties to conversion therapy (forcing LGBT kids into being straight, and teaching them not-straight thoughts are evil and wrong.)

Wait until you hear about basically every cardboard box you’ve ever used. Uline? Why don’t you know this, and, if you do, why don’t you care?

Every single time this image pops up people complain lol. The reason you shouldn’t patronize Chick-Fil-A is because they’re overpriced, the working environment is usually known as one of the best even if the pay is usually very low.

It didn’t have anything to do with the cute cat… OP happened to use sauces from chic fil a, which implies they eat there. Eating there arguably supports an organization that has been caught, many times now, spending its money to reduce the rights for people they don’t approve of. It’s received a lot of press over the years but not so much your expect most people to know about it.

The Wikipedia bit didn’t even get into their involvement in African politics. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chick-fil-A_and_LGBT_people

      why don’t you care?

Because this sounds manipulative as hell, Chick-fil-A is tasty and me not eating it for lunch today is not going to change a god damn thing. If you want actual change stop posting on Lemmy and go put boots on the ground in Guatemala. Or go sue the Cathy’s. Tell you what, I’ll be sure to use the most inclusive language I possibly can while ordering it.

For the record, I think punishing anyone for what personal choices they made in their own private lives, that doesn’t harm anybody else, is a disgusting violation of human rights by any metric and should be stopped immediately, but so is trying to shame people for eating a sandwich in an entirely different country and not the murderers. Good luck with your change campaign.

pretty sure I saw the guy who changes the oil in your car eat chic fila also so unless you feel like auditing everywhere you spend money exhaustively nothing is going to change this way. why not bring a lawsuit against the Cathy’s for human rights violations instead of this hashtag #activism?

And being preachy on Lemmy fixes what exactly? This is a meme about a cat and sauce packets and it devolves into political bullshit. There’s a time and place to push an agenda.

Lemmy is going to die if all we got are the sensitive redditors that preach constantly over the millions of things out there that offend them.

logically inconsistent analogy. If hitler is my Uber passenger I can turn him down on my personal preference but if I drive a bus for the city and hitler happened to get on it there’s not much I can do but shoot him a dirty look. pretty sure if you get enough people to stop buying chick fila all you would do is get some high school kids fired when they scale back hours. The Cathy’s get paid from franchise fees which won’t change unless you shut it down. Go sue them or something in international court, this is not the way.

The profit from your chicken sandwich is enough to buy a rope to lynch a person.

Maybe stop being a self-righteous asshole and understand that your choices have consequences, even if you think your contribution to evil is too small to count.

Im not a murderer and therefore don’t respond to shame. I’ll try to remember that when I order for lunch today. In order to fulfill the prophecy of being called a self righteous asshole, I think I’ll triple my nugget order and save some for dinner or tomorrow. Looks like your hashtag #efforts did make a change today!

Oh no, I’d hate it if people who don’t care about whether or not they’re funding conversion camps for children and anti-LGBT legislation ate a bunch of food that’s terrible for their health. I would be so owned if their arteries hardened and their hearts enlarged!

grilled chicken nuggets is unhealthy? I’m probably going to be eating it for a few days straight so I sure hope not. maybe by Thursday I’ll switch to the chick fila salad.

Actually would you help me out, can you order for me? If you went to Chick Fila and wanted to be healthy what would you get?
