I’m opposed to defederation as a concept, with one exception: Threads.
Meta is probably going to try to kill the Fediverse the same way Google killed XMPP. The best defense is to defederate from it as soon as it adopts ActivityPub. Even if it does play nice and doesn’t throw its weight around, I still say every instance should defederate. I think I speak for most Fediverse users when I say I got out of centralized social media partially to move away from corporate influence.
Or just move to nostr. Its a better protocol
I think threads will die Honestly. Also stupid that they Pretty much used the @ as their icon
Honestly I think this is more about killing twitter than the fediverse.
