Signal is pretty great. Convincing your contacts to switch over is the next challenge.
Exactly my issue. We had a good push to move when the whole terms of service thing happened but I got way too many work related group chats with non techy people on WhatsApp so I’m just stuck
I convinced 3 of my friend and they agree to use it without any objection.
My phone hates signal for some reason. Notifications simply dont work. Message gets received but nothing shows up until i open the app specifically.
Did you give Signal permission to stay active in the background? I’ve never used an iPhone, but many Android devices shut down inactive precesses a bit too aggressively and mess up notifications.
Android here, and yea tried all the options. The smart control must switch back on, on its own. Or this phone has some optimization algo that i cant fiddle with.
All my friends and family have been on it for years, except one lazy one. He just doesn’t take part in group chats now unfortunately.
It’s functionally not much different to WhatsApp but with added privacy and isn’t connected to meta.
