I remember watching this off and on when it came out. I didn’t get too into it, but it certainly stood out to me. It’s a distinct art style and numerous scenes had an outright cinematic feel to them.

Surprised me when I saw it was Phil Lamar voicing the titular character, used to see him on mad TV as the “ups man” among other characters and skits.

Not sure if it’s streaming anywhere but I want to sit down and binge it. I feel like I could appreciate it a bit more now than I did when it premiered.

I think it’s on HBO’s streaming service if you have access to that. It’s definitely worth watching. Watching it as a kid I loved how it could jump from genre to genre each episode. You could go from a story about a haunted house to a heist story, to Jack fighting robots with the Spartans and it just made sense.

I was the same, but I caught and watched the more recent adult version (it’s an actual conclusion to the entire series, as a whole, not just some spin off) that came out on Adult Swim a few years ago. I had never really took time to watch the original, more kid-friendly version, especially when I was a kid. I kind of stuck my nose up at it when I was younger.

But I gotta say the adult version was enjoyable and it’s got me thinking I should go back and watch the more kid-friendly version now too.

Yeah definitely. I think for me it was more like something I enjoyed in the moment If I caught it on the tube, but I lost track of the plot without consistently watching.
