I sincerely can’t imagine why would anyone make the case for Kane to be even in the top 10 right now. Bellingham is in great form (probably the best form in the world right now), but the season has just started and we should see how it develops for him. As a Brazilian, these debates are particularly annoying. Neymar and Vini both had stretches in which they performed as well or better than Bellingham is doing right now in the last few seasons and they never got this level of insane hype this quickly, with Vini failing to get even to the shortlist of 12 players of the best last year (while Declan Rice did). The way in which English-speaking media shapes the debates and perceptions is insane.

After decades of English fans and media overhyping our playing… are we finally in a position where we can actually rightfully call ourselves the favourites heading into the euros?

No because two players don’t make a squad. France is still stronger overall.

England maybe 2nd or 3rd favourites on paper.

This is why you won’t win and why Mbappe is the best in the world. (apart from Messi who people have forgot about, but who hasn’t stopped performing since winning the world cup and putting up motm performances in every single game) Kane won’t show up for England just like he hasn’t apart from scoring a few penalties and none of your players are capable of doing what Mbappe does. Bellingham is your biggest hope seeing he isn’t not afraid of the big stage.

Kanes numbers are great but idk see how he has been the best striker this season. Even in Budensliga Guirassy and Tel have been more impressive. Saying he is the best nine when he isnt even the best scorer in the league and half of his goals have been scored in 7-0 and 8-0 games is a bit much

People don’t care about context, they don’t realize not every goal is weighted the same and scoring the 4th goal vs some minnow is meaningless statpadding.

Ngl ive been in love with maddison since he joined leicester where he instantly became the top scorer for the beginning of the season and I still haven’t seen him ´struggle’ even with spurs where he’s doing even better, I can’t wait to see him play against european giants to see what it takes to recognise him as a legit world class player

Easily. Kane was also the best last season, but too much emphasis of Messi’s world cup & Haaland’s Treble/golden boot. In terms of ability alone, Kane was ahead of them both, only ignored because he was at Spurs, who didn’t win a trophy.

I don’t think either are most people’s first pick in either position. You go with Haaland for a 9 and Messi, Mbappe for that 9.5

Likely yes, Haaland is a menace but a known quantity and we only see what Mbappe is capable of doing around 5 times per season.
