      Lol Spurs.

Let’s see what they have in big games when the opponent isn’t down to ten men and the other isn’t gifting them a free goal with 30 minutes left.

Said this recently we should be looking for maximum points from sheffield until the anfield game. Only accept SJP as a banana slip. We should be beating brighton regardless of how good they may be plus we got to get revenge

Really feel like we should we primarily youth squad for EFL cup… Not worth risking injuries to starting XI

What do you agree with him abt? He does have good takes imo, the problem is that he acts like he is the second coming of pep, his opinion is 100% correct all the time and refuse to admit being wrong

      70-30.

70% agreeing with him. 30% questionable.

Currently, I don’t agree with his idea of Kai as a striker. Strikers do the ball striking thing pretty well, and have a certain “hunger” about them. Kai plays like a creator.

It should only be done if we have no choice.

For me his content is like 50% clear-cut stuff if you look carefully and read into things well, about 20% stuff that he’s truly early in understanding, and remaining stuff I doubt or he’s wrong

I can’t agree with him saying Ødegaard isn’t necessary on our squad. He thinks Viera and Smith-Rowe are better, and I can’t agree to that

Maybe Ødegaard can be shifted into LCM if there’s substance to the theory that Øde is limiting Saka

NNT can preach all he wants, unless something drastically or unforeseen happens, Ode aint going anywhere or aint gonna get stripped off captaincy.

We signed Ode on a permanent with the future basis that he will be the captain of the club, that’s how i view it. If Arteta didnt want him, this story ends after that first loan spell.

It would be fair to say we may want to look at positioning/role, esp bc Havertz means the puzzle pieces don’t quite fit together + absence of Partey, but I really don’t see the basis for him leaving. It’s certainly not great that some fans have turned on him after 10 matches & just 1-2 months after extending his contract. I’m not sure if he has the capacity to be a more creative playmaker and go up a level, but he’s got an injury and we’re playing down the middle less to accommodate Declan and the fact that other teams have adapted to our attack. That doesn’t reflect badly on Odegaard at all. As for feeding the ball to Saka -Odegaard didn’t play at Seville & still didn’t get fed the ball much, so…

I do think Declan would make for a good/better captain on the pitch, like a Busquets style one, but it’s not the right time.

I just remembered when we used to play xhaka at left back and realised that arteta has had this whole “inverted left back” extra deep midfielder thing planned from the beginning.

Yes, and you start noticing a lot of these things if you look carefully. For example, I don’t think a single person last year could have told you that havertz could do a job playing alongside the 6 in the out of possession 4-4-2 block. Yes it was Sheffield but the team didn’t look worse.

At first, it was more of a bad injury situation. Tierney, Kola were out. Saka wasn’t ready.

But now I remember a comment he made in the lines of ‘We lost because we didn’t have Xhaka’ (I think it was after a Europa loss/exit), I think he wanted an inverted LB.

I think with Saliba playing on Sat and Gabriel rested, Gabriel plays today. I expect that he, Tomi & Kiwior will be 3/4 of the backline today (plus possibly Ben White?)

Then Elneny, Jorginho, ESR, Fabio, Tross, Havertz are all in with good shouts for the other 6 positions although it’s super unlikely that Arteta will do a complete rotation. I’d expect 2-3 on the bench still. He might play 3 of these guys, 2 starters and one youngster like Sagoe Jr.

It’s crazy that you can make 4 different back lines with those 4 players, without them playing in a position that they aren’t comfotable in.

      Tomi - White - Gabriel - Kiwior
      White - Tomi - Gabriel - Kiwior
      White - Kiwior - Gabriel - Tomi
      White - Tomi - Gabriel - Kiwior

Gabriel probably can play at RCB or LB as well, but he hasn’t really done so IIRC

I’d really like to see Walters play. It’s hard to work in a young defender, but with the likes of Tomi, Gabi, Kiwi, and White, there is a good foundation.

We have academy players knocking on the door and we haven’t brought through an academy defender in a long time. If the club doesn’t play them in the League Cup, I’m not sure when they get their chance.

Anyone know how Marquinios’s loan to Nantes is going, I checked transfermarkt and he’s only had 1 start, 1 assist in a game off the bench and he hasn’t been in the squad the last few matchdays. Haven’t had the time to keep up with our loanees this year.

    Trivia question:

Since March 5, 2023, who has more wins at Stamford Bridge?

    Edit: Premier League wins

    1. Chelsea?
    2. Brentford?

I dont’t know why, but I feel like Florian Wirtz would be an absolutely fantastic signing for that left 8 role. He’s unbeliavably good. Would love to see a player like him at the club. What is your opinion on this?
