Have you guys tried roleplaying with your characters (multiplayer)?

Not necessarily through audio but with the game chat function at least!

  • Comment on the events heard/seen on the TV/radio
  • Build up a character personality through their occupation and personality traits and act on them
  • Tell tales of what you have done in the game
  • Discuss about several locations in the game world
  • Go through future prospects, goals, fears…

I tried a little bit with one friend (the others weren’t interested) with one line here there. Was fun!

With modded extra animations it could get even more interesting!

That would require a level of talent or ability that I simply do not have. Simply surviving on optimised character is hard enough.

I’m a burglar because I need a car, an electrician to get the generator working and a carpenter, cause leveling it up requires a lot of nails! :)

You can always start on small.
This applies to whatever skill you don’t have yet.
All that matters is the interest.

Well, it will always become an either a hit or a miss experience when you delve into something new.
Jumping in a new server is one of those situations.

Sometimes people have different goals. If your doesn’t meet theirs, or even if you cannot get along with a group, you can always jump ships and try again to find a group more suitable for you 🙂

I would argue that it would be generally better to just leave than starting wreak havoc. Of course it can be difficult to go away peacefully if you get pissed off or otherwise feel like insulted or hurt but you easily end up with both parties feeling even more awful after the situation has ended if you cause (even more) damage.

      But oh well.
Gonna try again with some other group/server? With friends perhaps?

I hope they never will! Updates and moar stuff 'til the end, comrades!

      It’s still in early access.
Dunno how bad it was back then - I think I bought the game 1-1½ years ago. I come back every now and then - my newest gameplay started a few days ago.

I don’t have data to compare to what is it nowadays versus what experiences you have of the game.
You can check out some gameplay videos. And there are lots of mods that can add up greatly to the experience.
I suggest you to give it another look/chance!

      They also have multiplayer nowadays.

So go ahead and change the settings?
Sickness and many other things can be turned off, if it’s too much realism for ya or otherwise not yer thing.

          I haven’t played DAYZ.

Devs can only be busy with so many things. Modders are extra people with their extra time in their hands to make extra stuff.
And sometimes their works appear in vanilla game afterwards.
I don’t want to go deeper into the “why modders need to fix games?” -discussion cos that’s kinda off-topic now.
