I don’t really eat fries, because they feel like something is missing. What side of veg should/could I get to make them feel more complete? Vegan coleslaw? I need ideas.

I usually do loaded fries if they’re a main. Ketchup, mustard, pickles, crumbled bean patty. Like a deconstructed burger.

If you want a true side, I think broccoli pairs well with potatoes. Roast some chopped pecans in vegan butter, at the end add a bit of nutmeg, and use it to top the broccoli.

Solid bodies vegetables will usually go well with fried food like brocci, cauliflower, peas, and carrots as long as you season/flavour them well.

Some suggestions are salt and pepper/ chilli oil/ oyster sauce/ garlic and rosemary.

The last one will probably take the most balancing skill.

I usually go for toppings like avocado, chilli flakes, and sauerkraut. An alternative is to use wrapping lettuce. (A lot better if it’s crisp and tasty).

Then my best recommendation is to get an airfryer or deep fryer. Oven fries suck. I wasnt willing to admit how much they sucked until i got a fryer lol

You can get a good air fryer for less than $30 if you look for deals. I snagged mine from a Kohl’s for $25ish. It’s not gigantic, but it makes enough for two, so I’m all set lol

It’s some weird brand name, not like the ninja or other air fryers you see which are way pricier. It does the job, that’s what matters.

Edit: Just looked. It’s the “Gourmia 6 quart” and I’m guessing I got the previous model on clearance, because the new one is like $50 (I’d be very surprised if there were more than minor cosmetic changes compared to the one I got lol). If you’re willing to look online, you might find even better options.

Raw carrot sticks and cucumbers would go well if you have a dipping sauce besides ketchup. Gives a variety of textures and tastes but it’s all still finger food
