Leaky defense and the usual rigid structure that we have with our starting 11 was lost. Spurs players were easily dispossessed, there were many miss passes and we could not properly build.
That squad depth is the reason. It’s going to take more windows for Spurs to become serious title contenders imo (though most of us were only dreaming at best, not expecting to really charge). Long overdue rebuild that should have begun 4 years ago.
Deadwood defense consisting of Dier and Davies may turn out to be the end of this club for this season. Ange can’t trust these players with his tactics. You may say “the old Tottenham is back”, well guess who are the old Tottenham lol!
Wolves deserved the win. They played better than us for the most part.
The biggest weakness for Spurs is when the refs don’t get confused and disallow goals for their opponents.
Too many changes required and not enough depth, Ange needs time to build a squad of his players. I just want to see us get back in Europe, we’ve made a fantastic start and our first 11 is capable of that. I’ve not enjoyed the attention this season, seems it’s cranked the vitriol to 100, the hate we get is weird.
“Why cant Tottenham win the League?” - Jamie O’hara Monday 6th Nov '23.
A weapons grade moron. O’Hara was a shit player and, somehow, even worse radio pundit.
You were close to midtable for xGA, your defence before the injuries wasn’t as great as Spurs fans seem to think. Vicario being the best keeper in the league this season sort of helps.
It just shows Tottenham being Tottenham
Royale, Dier, Davies in the back 4… not entirely surprising
You mean exposed spurs for being spurs
Wouldn’t put Davies in the same deadwood category as Dier. Not stellar but steady.
Son looked absolutely lost today. Went missing for nearly the whole game, just popping up every now and then to win the occasional free kick and put in 1 solid tackle right before the winner. really poor game from the captain, and a lot of the other players matched his impact.
If Lo Celso’s shot went in, it would have been a different story. Probably undeserved for Spurs and cruel for Wolves if it went in.
But no doubt Wolves well deserved winners. Created more chances but just couldn’t finish until the 90th min. I’m sure Ange will find no excuses and acknowledge that.Wolves had so many open looks and just missed the goal. We’re lucky it was only 2-1
Damn what a terrible way to lose
I didn’t see any linkup play in the middle of the park, very little attacking intent when they had the ball. I thought Antonio Conte was back coaching the team.
Squad depth is their biggest problem along with no creative players when Maddison is not there
Squad depth was highlighted before the season began, but it’s going to take Ange more than 1 window to fix. He’s done amazingly well with his first, so hopefully that continues. Depth shouldn’t be an issue in a couple seasons time.
Yeah this is nothing new lol, squad depth was always the key reason they were never going to be able to challenge.
