Hi everyone,
I am currently planning to run an ethernet cable to the upstairs of the house, however, the walls have corrugated ducts to run the cables through, I would like your opinion on whether it is necessary to run a shielded cable through this duct or it can be unshielded.
NOTE: These ducts do not carry electrical wires.
Can you clarify the term “corrugated ducts”?
Do you mean flexible “corrugated” conduit, also referred to as ENT or “Smurf tubing” ?
Or do you mean actual Air conditioning / HVAC ductwork?
Thanks for your reply, this ducts are flexible corrugated ducts and they are for passing cables through walls, these are not for air conditioning but I am not clear if they are located or pass near the ducts of electricity cables.
Unshielded is fine for this use. Incidental passing electrical lines is not a problem.
