In my flat there are 1gbps cables.
One of the 4 connectors is working only on 100mbps.
The problem can be with the cable, with the wiring of the female connector or with the wiring of the male connector.
The issue is, the cables were cut kinda short, so I don’t want to try to fix the wrong part of the cable and the connector was “painted in” to the wall, so if I open it the paint will be ugly…
How can I test/find where is the problem?
Some “cable tester” devices offer a pair-by-pair cable length test, the inexpensive models accomplish this via simple capacitance.
