I’m kind of at my wits end here. I’m paying for gigabit speed with spectrum but only getting around 300-500 mbps maybe 600 on a good day, have had techs come out multiple times.
Today the tech was able to see that our modem is achieving the full gig speed but once it’s hitting the router seems to be where we have issues.
I’ve tested multiple devices hardwired into both the modem and router and best we seem to get is around 300-500 mbps down.
What’s even weirder is the tech was able to reach the full gig speed on their phone over wireless (they said it was a brand new iPhone 15)
I’m really not sure what to do at this point, I’ve tried just about everything I can do through my routers app and on my devices settings.
All my devices on paper should be able to get this full speed but simply cannot for some reason.
I’d be happy if I was averaging around 800-900 but only getting half of what I’m paying for is rather upsetting.

Another thing to keep in mind you will never get a true 1000mbps due to tcp/ip overheads max you’ll get is around 940mbps. This is not your providers fault and is a limitation of the technology itself.
Spectrum doesn’t give you a gigabit modem when you buy the gigabit service. You gotta buy your own.
