Just went and test drove one, still not a huge fan of the blocky front. Just wondering if I’ll get over it, I’ve been saving for one and can almost justify the purchase.

My biggest takeaway from it is how exposed the front radiator is… is there a way to protect this from rocks? Seems like an expensive trip on the road if one hits it at speed.

It’s an absolutely fantastic car that gets too much hate. Mostly all the same echos of complaints. Everyone says it’s ridiculously heavy, but it’s only 200lbs more than the f87 m2 comp and the performance with the s58 more than makes up for it. When I bought mine, I didn’t love the looks but was so happy with its drive ability that I looked past it. Now, I think it’s one of the best looking bmws available especially with some nice wheels and suspension mods. Granted, stock ride height is atrocious but otherwise I think it’s an amazing car.

Couldn’t agree more. Bought the “pig snout” M4 in 2021 and now the “blocky/Minecraft” G87. I love them both. BMW had to change their design logic. I mean how much more could you do with small kidneys after the last F generation cars? I’ve had 17 BMWs most other brands including a 911 and go straight back to BMW every time. They hands-down are the most fun to drive.
