It sounds like that thing DoFs do where a manager demands a solution, then they punch in the numbers and find the best available option, fail because it was almost impossible, and go down the list; down to someone cheaper, last year of contract and senior. Basically the Jorginho play book.

Players can force moves we all know that is the case. He can refuse to train or play until he gets a move. For all we know he wants out of villa.
It doesn’t matter. Forcing a move doesn’t exactly change anything. Zaha tried that before we went for Pepe and the price was still the same. The most recent example is Caicedo.
The most famous one is Antony. Forcing a move doesn’t knock down the price ESPECIALLY if you’re a desirable asset by the club.
We can get Youseff Fofana from Monaco. Price tag won’t be high and he can also play both 6 and 8.
This is how we could line up in City’s formation if everyone was fit and available ( and KT wasn’t on loan).

Some changes that could be made
1)You could pair Martinelli with Jesus by taking out Havertz and playing Trossard/ESR/Nelson on the left.
2)You could start Zinchenko alongside Rice and pair Ode with Jesus by taking out Havertz.
3)You could pair Ode and Partey, with Rice behind instead of White,in which case the back 3 would be White-Saliba-Gabi.
Not advocating us to copy City’s system,just something that came randomly to my mind.But I’m ngl, I would love to see us pair Martinelli and Jesus up top like City do with Haaland and KDB/Alvarez.Obviously it isn’t the same,but that partnership through the middle could be fire.(that last UCL game gave us a small glimpse of this).

Norway out of the Euros. Ode’s next shot will be when he’ll be nearly 30. Honestly, i’ve seen a couple of Norway’s games in this quals and in the WC2022 quals, he never seems as good as he is at club level.
the 2020s Norway faces a real threat of becoming like the 2010s Bosnia: a team with a great striker (Dzeko) and a great creative MF (Pjanic) and just overall good generation but playing like crap most of the time. Ode plays a big part in these failings: one of the biggest Norway’s problems is how boring and toothless they are offensively. If a peer opponent scores first against them, it’s like climbing Everest for them
