Hi there,
I recently purchased a second hand Mazda. The insurance papers state that it’s a 2009 Mazda 323 but I think it may be a Mazda 3 because I don’t think there are 2009 Mazda 323s?
I need to buy parts for a new sunroof and I want to make sure I get the correct parts for the car.
See the VIN image attached. I would just like to know what model the car is. I ran a few vin checks and nothing is coming up. If someone can read Japanese that would be helpful too lol.
Any help would be appreciated.
Per Google Lens translate- The top left says model: model. Bottom left says Mazda motor corporation Mazda motor corporation.
Your intuition is correct, the Mazda 323 (Familia) stopped production in 2003. So this was probably a clerical error.
The Vin is stamped on other locations of the car. The door sil will have it as well as on the body. Not sure for your specific 3 but the cx3 has it stamped underneath the floor mats in a little door that opens up as well.
If it truly is a Mazda 3 and the insurance says it’s a 323, please contact your insurance carrier ASAP and have them correct it, if they have it wrong it could have potentially disastrous consequences for you in the event of a loss
First go to the DMV and have the error corrected for the vin. Your paperwork must be correct.
Then call your insurance and correct it with them. If you were ever in an accident or what not. This could be extremely bad for you
You can take it to the DMV or request a certified officer to do a vin check for you. Tell em you just bought the car?
I’ve had VIN # sanfu, it often pops up as a sport when it’s a touring. the mix up is on the database side, not the car. The shipping paperwork, specs and features are all touring, so that’s what I’d recommend you trust. There’s also how to read your vin sites, worth a try to be sure.
It’s not a 323 then. 2003 was the last year for the 323. It’s a Mazda 3
The 323 ended 2003. It’s a Mazda 3
