The main aim of signing Ronaldo for Juventus was clearly to win the Champions league, which they didn’t achieve. I see this as the main reason why people claim Ronaldo wasn’t a good signing for Juventus. As well as him being one of the main reasons for Juventus’ economic issues.

Juventus were already the dominant force in Italian football before he joined (6 titles in a row) so it’s hard to say he actually improved them which does raise questions about the value for money they got from him. You have to think that they would have been able to maintain that dominance for far longer by signing a couple of very good younger players for £50m each rather than one 35yr old for 100m

It’s not for Juventus since it fucked them over due to the fee and insane wage, the effects was so severe up to this day.

It was a success for him . It prolonged the idea that he still had it for a couple of years by scoring frequently in a lesser league.

No. Although he played well, Juve’s overall performance suffered. They didn’t win anything special.

He played very well, but it was a bad decision, and wasn’t the way the go for Juve if they really wanted to remain on top. The team was aging and bringing in Ronaldo wasn’t going to stop the team from aging and gradually regressing without any other signings. An unfortunate transfer for both sides, Juve crushed their financials leaving them no room to buy top players (Particularly in the midfield), and Ronaldo spent 3 years of his career with an aging team that was getting worse and worse despite him scoring as much as he could.

Coarse it was. He gave his last lemon squeeze before he left the club but still destroyed in Manchester United

The aim was mainly to flee from the spanish tax authority.

And no, it wasn’t a success. Juventus was multiple league champion and CL semi finalist for years. With Ronaldo they lost in the last 16 in the CL and didn’t even win their home league.

Not at all, Ronaldo did great as expected and scored a lot, but the team got worse each season and they couldn’t afford a rebuild for an aging squad. For me was the right transfer in the wrong time. Juve could work great with that squad if they had if they got younger players considering they got 2 UCL finals in recent years, but instead they decided to skip some steps by getting Ronaldo for a bunch of money. Bad management took it’s price

Absolutely. His individual performance was top notch, yet the team had a squad ‘just’ good to win the league, not the UCL. He’s a unique player, but can’t do it all on his own.
