despite being owned by a state with which the UK has many interests economically will it be one of the cases that might go unpunished?

Manchester City won’t be punished. Football is one of the most corrupt sports in the world. The Oil money from the UAE will guarantee that they will be given a slap at the wrist at most.

I don’t think it will happen. Series A killed itself with Calciopoli and by relegating Juventus, and never came back after that. I don’t think PL will do the same honestly.

My view is that even “if” these allegations are true. Then the premier league would still be hesitant to get into a legal battle with City because we could (and probably would) tie them up in a legal battle which could possibly send them under (financially) which I doubt they’re willing to do

There is a possibility, its not very probable though.

Even if they get found guilty, itl be years away, be lucky if next year they finish the process, then city will likely drag it through the courts for as long as possible, so even if they get done it’ll be a long long time off.

Why would the prem punt their cashcow and golden child out the league? Not happening. The worst they’ll get us a fine for a couple mil and a 15 point deduction or some shit. They won’t win the league the year that happens but they’ll win the previous title and the title after so it means very little.

I can’t see it happening to be fair but it would be interesting if it did happen…

This ownership situation does raise some valid concerns about the integrity of the league. It’s important that all clubs are held to the same standards and face consequences if they break the rules. Let’s hope the appropriate actions are taken to ensure fairness and accountability in the Premier League.

Meh realistically no there is way too much reputation and money at risk for the pl. Its absolutely awful and if they are guilty then I wish they would just throw the book at them or any team that does but it won’t unfortunately. Also the rule breaches are just financial aren’t they so nowhere near as bad as Juventus or most other Serie A teams have had in the past.

Yes. They could be playing Champions League (as winners) every season as they’re climbing 5 or 6 tiers in their domestic league.
