I have a 2017 3 and it’s obviously out of warranty. I went into the dealership to have them look at a parking brake issue (it’s ridiculously loud, metallic clunking when engaging) that I was having. I know they’re more expensive, but, I liked the idea of having a Mazda certified technician diagnosing and looking at my car. I told them I was paying out of pocket for the work and that I have light modifications (air intake). They said it was okay. I arrived at the dealership, they took the car and pulled it back out in 2 minutes after “confirming the issue” but refusing service because of the intake. I went back and forth with the advisor and supposed master mechanic, but, it was like arguing with a brick wall. A local mechanic pinpointed and fixed the issue in the manner of a few hours.
I’m worried about the upcoming backup camera recall, with my poor experience with my parking brake, do I trust them to do the backup camera? Obviously not. I’ll probably go to Seattle… 2 hours away.
