I got an email from our local dealer and RSVP’d to see the cars in person on 11/28/24. I have a pre-order for the 90 from over a year ago. I’m on the fence about whether to go through with it. What are the key things I should look for? I have not owned an EV yet. I’ve ridden in Teslas and drove a Polestar rental in Europe earlier this year.

How the “key” works on the EX30. It doesn’t come with a fob. You have to leave your phone or a key card in the center console by your feet.

If you’re checking out the car you might want to see how you feel about that

Leaving your phone/key in the middle is only on the cheapest spec IIRC, the higher trims don’t require it

No rear cup-holders or arm rest in the back seats of the EX-30. If you have kid(s), this could be a deal breaker (as it may be for me). Waiting to see if some 3rd party makes an aftermarket solution that isn’t hideous.

I’m also concerned about the backseat room as my preteen grows into their teenage years and beyond. Might be a bit too cramped.

Unfortunately you won’t be able to look at too much for ex90 at least. It will be a demo model with computer systems all locked down or in demo mode. The interior will also be not in final state. They may not even allow you at 2nd and 3rd row seats based on demos last month in Seattle area.

Enjoy the badass mechanical headlight system on the ex90 😎 you’ll never see it behind the wheel unless you happen to be facing some very reflective glass but it’ll provide some entertainment to see it irl at least if you go
