The towing capacity is great. I will only need it to push slow pokes out of the way with my optional battering ram, and it is more than good enough for that.

But what would be the range while towing? That factor is what keeps things like an electric F150 from being adopted by any serious person.
People who buy these aren’t buying them for their towing capacity.
I think it’s more of an image thing. It’s going to be a status symbol for a while especially with low production for the forseeable future. Sure most buyers won’t need that payload, but it gives them a number to brag about how superior it is to other trucks as they drive it to Starbucks.
