I have a 2010 Mazda3 S 2.5L and I have never had a check engine light come on. I was driving to work today and the car had a sudden loss in power and all the lights on the dash (except the oil pressure light, the over temp sensor, and one other light) came on.

The display that shows my fuel economy, range, avg. speed etc. did not work. It also would not show me what gear I was in. I restarted the car and all the lights went off except the check engine light. It seems to idle fine and have normal power now. If anyone has any advice, that would be awesome!

I know the code has to do with a torque calculation error and some people have said it could be the mass airflow sensor or the PCM, but as I said it is not idling hard like a faulty MAS would probably cause. Thanks for any advice!

How’s your battery age and condition? Could be as simple as that. Or a loose battery wire. Or a failing alternator. This sounds electrical to me.

Start simple and check the condition of your battery terminals, or have your battery tested. If I was the tech diagnosing this that would be where I start.
