I know I’m in the minority but I prefer the black models instead of the limited edition.

The limited edition orange accents are awesome but I feel the transparency distracts from being immersed into the game.

Anybody else feel the same?

    I’d love a shell that was half life themed rather then having to get a skin decal (which I can’t use as I don’t have a damn hairdryer).

    Im gonna cover it with dbrand skin anyway. I would love to have the removable shell case though, and the illuminated sticks

    I personally think think the black model is too boring. If they gave it an interesting pattern or added more colors to it, it would look a lot better.

    im with you. May be that i did not have the transparent gameboy back in the day. But man do i hate transparent tech. it’s so freaking ugly to see all this dark green boards… idk, i always hated it on any handheld/console.

    I was going to go all black then my wife talked me into getting the LD, I’m happy she did it looks awesome.

      My wife said it looked “evil” and I bought it anyway. I think it’s perfectly reasonable people do or don’t like it, but I think it looks great.

    I like both, but it was hard to find a transparent case that I liked to show off the limited edition. So I went with the black model.

    I’m with you minority friend. I think the LE is pretty ugly. I may be a 90s kid but the transparent aesthetic never sat with me.

    You’re not in the minority. Valve will sell exponentially more of the standard version over the LE version regardless of price, many people will just prefer the standard aesthetics.

    I was already planning a shell swap thanks to the new screw posts, so I didn’t really care all that much for it. I’m gonna make a purple/black Deck but give it the orange accents because I like loud color combos.

    Well, not that I can choose, but I don’t see why people are so hyped about LE. Especially since there is literally a ton of third-party shells of all imaginable (and even some un-imaginable colors). As for my personal taste… this reddish color of joysticks is nice (but I still don’t understand what hue it has… on some photos it’s more like red, on some more like orange, and on some - something in-between), but I don’t like transparent shells.
