My new LE OLED Deck has a few red sub-pixels that are dead, and I’ve seen reports around this sub of others with similar issues. It almost seems like it is being mentioned more for specific models. So, I’m curious…. If you got a new Steam Deck OLED what model did you get and how is your screen?
If you haven’t checked and don’t know how it is pretty easy. Just go to desktop mode, install and open Firefox, then go to this website to check:
I didn’t notice any and wasn’t really looking but curiosity got the better of me so I checked my LE out and still didn’t find any stuck or dead pixels. Based on the comments here, I’m feeling pretty lucky.
I have one green dead pixel close to the bottom. Whats the verdict attempt an rma or live with it? I probably wouldnt have noticed unless i saw this post.
I got the 512 GB model and no dead pixels are visible anywhere. I’ll report back after experimenting with more games.
1TB normal edition, no dead pixels
Im starting see frequent post about deadpixels this is not good
non yet.
Nope. 100% perfect.
I have one on my LE OLED. Also noticed that it seems to mostly be LE owners with them. Their limited run must have been botched.
Steam was good about RMAing, for anyone still following. Was just a dead sub pixel in the middle of my screen. Distracting on light backgrounds.
Don’t see any dead pixels on my regular 1TB OLED thankfully, but I do have a crappy left trackpad haptic that’s really noisy compared to the right, waiting for Valve to get back to me on that one.

Where do you see what kind of panel you have?
No dead pixels on my LE.
Just checked my LE and I don’t have any dead pixel.
Got one right in the middle of my LE. I could probably handle it if it was in a corner or something but it’s shockingly distracting.
I’m curious if this is with the samsung or the other brand screens?
