I have one of these and I noticed today that I didn’t close the lid properly the last time I used it. The top yellow stopper was on top of the black lid instead of under it to make the correct seal. It has been like that from Sept. until now. I need to use the gas for my snowblower soon but I am wondering if not having the correct seal for that long will effect the fuel inside and whether I should use it in my snow blower.
Thanks for anyone that can help

Since September? You should be fine. Generally you won’t get major degredation until after a year or so from a sealed tank.

What now? You will get major degradation within three months even in a sealed tank. If you’re going to store fuel for longer time, you need to use a fuel stabiliser to prevent it going stale.
