i own a boxster so alternatives for me are mazda mx5 (miata), audi TT roadster, or fiat(abarth) 124 I guess.

To be honest, it’s very hard to find a similar price/value proposition. Does anyone know of other similar cars?

I owned an mx5, then z4 e85 3.0 now boxster s 987. I think the boxster lies in between the mx5 and z4 in terms of comfort and sportiness. Any later z4 will be even more of a grand tourer. The TT is way too heavy for me to even consider as a roadster. Jaguar F type is good value but also very heavy. I think my next steps will be newer boxsters.

If you’re willing to forsake the soft-top convertible, lotus emira is comparable. If you’re willing to forgo the manual transmission, z4 or c8

Current Gen Toyota GR86 is praised for being very baby 911 like.

I liken it to basically a modern 944.
