I spent like 20 years trying to be a doctor (clinician) in the US and finally made it this year. Exactly 458 will be the car that I’m planning to silver line my life with, not 430, and not 488. Red one.

          Why even get one then…?

Idk I just don’t understand that, but then again, we don’t need to understand everything in the world.

Think it’s just apart of how aspirational it is for someone to buy a red Ferrari as a poster car and making it a reality + mixed with pop culture of how Ferraris are historically red, Lamborghinis historically yellow.

Why 458 over 488? Curious. Friend has the 488, it’s changed me from a pretty specifically obsessed with Lamborghini kind of guy. Love 488… target’s are set on 488 or F8 for me…

Can’t speak to him personally- but 458 was such an iconic number for so long because of how ridiculously well that car drove. The lightness, the feel, it genuinely felt more like a race car than most anything street legal before it could even touch (the 430 scuderia was close, but this is a base car giving that feeling!)

The 488 is a spectacular car too- but something about the 458 just feels raw and fun, and my own personal reason- the 458 loves oversteer more than the 488.

And as a Porsche guy, I adore oversteer.

I have an FF and an GT3 and the two Ferraris that I want to own at some point are an F12 for the front engine V12 coupe, and a 458.

For me 458>488/F8 because naturally aspirated > turbo, even if it’s a bit slower. Realistically they’re all too fast for the street and I just go to the track for fun, so the extra capability doesn’t matter there either.

Man the lineup you have now is my dream. The FF is criminally underrated and sounds magnificent.

Front engine V12 with an 8k rpm redline is just 🥵lol. Hopefully I’ll always have one in the garage!

I love the 458, it’s my favorite ferrari, but if I ever have ferrari money, I’m getting a 6 speed 430.
