I’ve tried a couple sleeves/cases, some thumb caps, the stick on pads for L/R 4/5, and I always end up removing them because I actually prefer the feel of the plain Steam Deck. Anyone else have this happen where whatever they slide or stick onto their Deck makes it feel “wrong”?

My deck had a purple bottom. The sticks have purple covers and i usually play on a controller because i can’t stand the looseness of the sticks themselves.

If I can find stiffer sticks I will be replacing those as well.

Plain old case for me. Got the OG 512gb and the new 1tb OLED non limited Edition. I don’t like all the bling and prefer to keep it simple. However, I customize the crap out of the UI with Decky Loader - art, sounds, animation…everything. So sexy.

Only accessories I bought was the Dock and a different case, so far I have felt a need to change that.

I just use controllers on my steam deck to not wear off the analog sticks on the deck and thats about it.

I use mine entirely stock, mostly cuz I just dont feel the need to add anything to it.

dude valve is a multibillion dollar company that probably spent millions in R&D over the course of a decade to make the ideal handheld.

why the fuck would I ruin that that with cheap ass cash grab accessories? it works fine out of the box.

I dont need to mount a whole ass hard drive mounted to it, I dont need my entire fucking steam library at any given time. i dont need some third party heat sync to fuck up the thermals that valve thoroughly tested to make sure it works oob. I dont need mounts for 14" screens cuz thats obnoxious and it has a perfectly good screen built in. I dont need to play video games for 8 hours straight a day, the battery is mostly sufficient for my use case (it could be better, but a clunky mounted external battery is not the solution). I dont want some big rubber case along the outside its big enough already.

    yeah, its good as is.

only accessories I can get behind are screen protectors and stuff to customize it. the different color panels and buttons are cool. I just wouldnt want to replace the stock panel with a third party part that is a structurally weaker plastic, thats the only thing that worries me. I’d like to get a second deck to do these kinda customizations to.

edit: actually one thing I think I wouldnt mind having is a replacement rear panel that has a stand build in like the switch or the surface pro tablets… that would be cool. its not a huge deal though since the only two places I play my deck at I have stand/docks for it.

I love the deck as it is but for it’s sake I made the sacrifice of using a case. It’s a hard and heavy one where you can take the lid off. It protects it but it will probably destroy my floor if I drop it.

All I have is a skin and thumb grips. Other than that it’s all OG Deck.

I have no accessories except the case it came with and I like it just fine. Just wish Valve would sell the deck in more than one color. Maybe even consider doing something like Xbox design lab

Just a screen protector. I’ve never liked grips/cases/accessories unless they were necessary. Things like lights and such.

I have a screen protector and low profile case just for durability and my clumsiness reasons, but other than that I don’t feel any need for extra accessories besides SD storage.

I prefer the feel of a plain console too but it also gets hot and i like it as clean as possible, so generally a silicone cover, thumbsticks and screen protector etc.
