it was never owned by the church.

the guy who bought it off the original founders was a scientologist and typical C-suite scumbag.

the only cult influencing neopets was capitalism. who doesn’t love shoving two ads in every hole.

I’m pretty sure the games are still there but in HTML5 now, I remember logging in again a couple of years back and they were there at least.

I’m not sure where the person you replied to got their information.

Neopets currently has 14 games on their Games page.

In their Medium post, they say they have plans to integrate Ruffle to make “more than 50 games” playable starting on July 25th. They also “hope to convert many of the most beloved games to HTML5”, but they’ve also been saying that for years.

I think a bunch were sponsored games so they’d have to remake the assets to bring them back, right? I remember doing the Cheeto’s game daily to get my neopoints to invest in the stock market…

Come to think of it, a lot of my financial stability has come from saving/spending habits I learnt in neopets as a kid.

That’s so wholesome. I think i was there a bit earlier, or simply avoided the branded games, but I remember this….faerie puzzle platforming adventure type thing? And, of course, destructomatch. The Neopian economy was wild. They gave a bunch of kids their own little small businesses to manage, with the social safety net of free omelettes. I sort of wish I’d taken advantage of its features more back in the day.
