And the screen looks fantastic. Some people here had me nervous and if you’ve been on the thread you’d think it was the end of the world and you’d have to instant RMA your device due to dead pixels.

Just wanted to add a positive note. My LE arrives pristine with no issues whatsoever.

Dead pixels are in the extreme minority, it’s just that you are going to hear about almost 100% of those cases. Same reason having cashier and store ratings on receipts is a terrible idea, because everyone who was upset will submit a bad rating, while very few who were happy will bother saying they were happy. “Misery loves company”.

Same. I love my LE. Finished BG3 last night with it positioned like 12 inches from my face.

Long time lurker but hoping to make my first post here!

Got my LE in a few days back, the BOE panel has been a joy to play on. Bright, extremely vibrant colors, and no dead subpixels. I’ve had Samsung OLED phones for years, and in comparison can comfortably say I’m satisfied with this panel as well. Will keep my fingers crossed for how it’ll perform in the long run!

Compared to my LCD deck, the buttons and feedback in general are crispier, especially the touchpad haptics and thumbstick clicks (no more crunch, just a confident click). The D-pads have a similar feeling between the two for me, but is a bit firmer on the LE. Thumbsticks are more comfortable and much grippier on the LE as well.

The touchscreen response is so much nicer as well, I feel it’s now on par with other touchscreens I have around the home.

Same here. 1TB LE Deck with the BOE display. All is good on dead pixels. DPad is good. Only problem I have is a strange feeling haptic engine on the left pad… it works but it feels too strong compared to the right pad. Thankfully I can adjust it. Plus it’s a feature I don’t care much for.

I have two dead subpixels on mine, but Valve is super cool and I already initiated a return and purchased a 512GB model. I kind of miss the black body and want to avoid the BOE screen lottery altogether.

I decided to check mine after reading these posts, and I have a dead pixel smack dab in the middle! It’s definitely dead cause it’s black, and sticks out cause it’s in the center. Already contacted Steam about an RMA.

LE here 04 BOE. One dead pixel on the screen near center/top. Only doesn’t show on red. I sent Steam a question about what can be done.

It’s Reddit and the vocal minority. This shit happens with every release of any product. Yes, there will be defective units. It happens. That’s not the norm though. If you believe Reddit, every person with a LE will be caught in an endless cycle of RMA and never have one that will work while valve drinks the blood of their first born child.
