Maybe not a “whole” new one🤣🤣🤣🤣
Drill, tap , brass nipple adapter ($7 at any Home Depot) install with good teflon tape
No sense in replacing a radiator over an overflow drain
Where you located?
So if its the right size i would get a piece of metal tube like fuel/brake line. Put the steel line inside and glue it in place. The steel will support the broken plastic line once glued.
If it was ME, I would replace the radiator. Just for piece of mind and while at it, you’ll have nice new clean coolant. That is good overall also.
Yea, but if it broke it was probably brittle anyway
I’ve sleeved that with a piece of thin wall tubing before. Then glued the piece back on. Sounds sketchy but if the tubing is snug, it’s good to go.
Yep. The rest of your radiator is likely just as brittle.
You MIGHT be able to drill and tap the thread in a barbed brass nipple. Something like this https://www.zoro.com/zoro-select-straight-crimped-or-hose-clamp-14-in-hose-id-18-in-thread-6afh3/i/G0249051/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=surfaces&utm_campaign=shopping feed&utm_content=free google shopping clicks&campaignid=20749401279&productid=G0249051&v=&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpvHJp87gggMVPc7CBB2OuBPBEAQYECABEgLtc_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
At this point, you have nothing to lose.
If it works, you saved yourself a lot of money, if it fails you aren’t out anything since you have to replace it anyways.
Depends how it broke. If it’s brittle, replace the rad. Your upper rad hose bib might be next. If it was done by force (closing the hood on something etc) I’d come up with a way to repair it
Plastic shit.
You can fix this with a brass barbed fitting. Find a brass fitting thats barbed at both ends and you can epoxy 1 end into the radiator. If you’re really lucky yoyncan find one threaded on one end and install it with thread sealer. The brass will cut threads into the plastic so long as its not too tight as to crack the hole up the neck. Ive done both of these before with great success. Ive also done this with fuel pump modules and had somethinf as swnsative as evaporative emissions notnhave issues.
You can tell which mechanics work in a dealership and a small shop here lol
BUBBLEGUM AND DUCK TAPE ! aka super glue and baking soda! It’s a bandaid but it works
I’ve seen people drill, tap, and run a brass nipple installed wet with JB Weld and last years.
