What Porsche is the least of a Porsche to you?
For me it’s the 914 but there have been several through the life of Porsche that didn’t seem to fit within the Porsche family.
914’s are awesome cars
It’s not that they’re not awesome, they just not Porsche’s. They may be Audi’s, they may be something else, but nowhere in the historical design catalogue does a 914 fit. You could argue that it goes all the way back to the first Porsche car but that was an organic shape, not a box.
Beg to differ: the greatest Porsche race cars including the mighty 917 were all mid engine.
Sure, if you put that package in Kharmann Ghia type body but the box never made sense. The thing people today seem to ignore is that there was the Kharmann Ghia when the 914 was around which made the styling Porsche chose even more of an odd duck.
100%
Cayenne.
Audi RS2

Mercedes Benz 500 E
What about the V-Rod?
Stock Macan in recent years. Just put an Audi badge on it and save us the trouble.
Also, hi PCNA marketing team!
That Macan and Cayenne are the reason Porsche is still around.
Yea but base macan with a i4 2.0 turbo is not that performance inspiring. A macan turbo is a different beast.
Who gives a shit? People buying base Macans aren’t doing it for 0-60 times.
Underrated Comment
prolly the porsche tiger absolute shitbox
back in the day the 924 and the 914 got no respect. 35 years later I think they are both good examples of cars from the time period. If the Boxster wasn’t an orphan I wouldn’t have bought one. To answer your question, the cayenne will always be a poorly disguised touareg
I feel the same way. The 924 controversy I understood, but the move to water cooled was an obvious evolution. I not sure how people thought air cooled only would suffice forever. The 914 never fit and because there was the Kharmann Ghia it bothered people even more.
914
Panamera e-hybrid, base Macan
Every suv? But they pay the bills
The obvious answer: the Cayenne. Out of all current production Porsches it’s the only not built in a Porsche owned factory.
Taycan
Cayenne, Macan, Panamera. In that order. But I’m glad they are making the SUVs to fund sports car development.
