MacBook Air 15" Laptop - M2 chip - 16GB Memory - 512GB are on sale at Best Buy for $1399 right now. My 2017 MBP is still working so the purchase isn’t urgent, however, it is pretty slow. Am I better off waiting to buy it refurbished or is this about the best price I’ll see? I have Best Buy total tech so that price includes two years of Apple care.

Go for it! Bigger screen and far better CPU/iGPU.

You may need a dongle for extra ports, but they are cheap ($20).

Someone else can correct me if wrong but imo the deal for the base M1 Air for $750 is the most value. Depending on what you’re gonna use it for, more ram or storage could be needed but if it’s just non intensive tasks then base model should be fine. Not that big a difference between M1 and M2 from what I understand

I ended up going with the M1 Air base model. A lot of people were recommending the M2 Pro with 16/512 for $1599 refurb. I think Best Buy had that same model new, for the same price. If I were you, I would compare the M2 pro and M2 Air and decide between the two of those.

Yeah at that price point, the Pro would be worth it bc the upgrade is worth more than $200 imo

I have this machine and it’s sick. Zero regrets. If you already have the best buy totsl membership it kinda makes sense to take advantage of it with a new machine, whereas it doesnt do squat for your current one.

Refurb pros at similar price have smaller screens they’re already years old. The mba 15 is a masterpiece and with these specs most users will be really happy. People who need a pro model based on usage already know they need it. If that’s you then get another to replace your aging one or just use it until its no longer usable.
