Back in the late 90s to Early 00s Lamborghini used yellow in a lot of cars, like the Diablo, Gallardo and murcielago. When I was kid I thought this was so cool. It really gave Lamborghini that Ferrari vibe. If Ferrari got red, Lamborghini got yellow, that’s was the name of the game for me. It was such a cool branding move. I don’t understand why they stopped with it.

I mean I don’t think it’s a bold statement to say yellow cars just don’t sell as well these days compared to the 90-00s

Hell I don’t even think they sold that well back then ethier looking back on it. Was still a very quirky thing to get a yellow car just more common then now.

The first Ferraris and Lamborghinis were often Giallo Modena as a tribute to Modena. I’m guessing that with more recent cars that connection probably became less important and marketing started playing a bigger role.

Yellow was a very common car color in general across many model and nameplates in the early 2000s. It was like the new red for a while.

There were also a ton of yellow Nissan Xterras, Hummer H2s, Mustangs and of course New Beetles on the road back then.

Aventador and Urus have been their mainstays for a while now and the special editions wouldn’t look so unique if they were all yellow.
