I have a 2009 Carrera 4S. Car was inspected at Porsche dealership and had major service done 8 weeks ago. All recommended maintenance was completed with the exception of new shocks/struts as I’m getting that done at an Indy. I noticed this weekend that when I brake at low speeds it’ll make an intense grinding noise from the front. Porsche didn’t recommend any brake replacement nor do my sensors trigger any warning. It will only make this grinding noise when completely stopping and it’s sporadic as well. It’ll do it sometimes. Could it be a faulty wheel bearing? Surely Porsche would’ve checked that. Car has 100k miles. Any help would be appreciated. TIA

Any scoring on either side of your rotors? First thought is a rock caught in between the caliper/pad and the rotor somewhere. 997 Forum on RL will have a lot more to offer with stuff like this. Good luck!
Brake squeal is normal on our cars. Even says so in the owners manual. You should be fine if you just had maintenance done.
Inspect the rotors and clean the caliper, probably a pebble as mentioned. If the rotor(s) is scored replace em, cheap enough for ATE bits on regular c4s
Try braking to simulate the grinding noise, then while doing so, swerve left and right. If you hear the grinding noise undulate as you swerve, it could be a worn out wheel bearing.
A bad bearing makes noise all the time. It is proportional with speed and sounds like a plane taking off. This is definitely a brake issue.
Not on my 3 series. Had a bad front left wheel bearing that only grinds when braking, and only audible on lower speeds. My guess is that it has something to do with how the load is shifted when braking.
