Apart from the obvious performance uplift what improvements are left that you would like to see in a Deck 2?
For me there is:
-
VRR support
-
Hall Effect sticks
-
Make the battery easy to replace
-
Move the SD card slot to other half of shell
-
Move USB-C port to bottom
-
Further reduce bezel and increase screen size
-
Add real haptics
-
Add Oculink and eGPU support.
On the software side I’d like to see:
- Improvements to the verification system to better incorporate user reviews and give more detailed feedback on what does and doesn’t work + expected performance
- An official way to share game settings, An easy way to install non steam apps from Gamemode
- Improve the desktop mode experience.
Better performance and another USB-C port, that’s pretty much it
I think they need to go through and get a universal control scream for steamdeck …I really dislike needing to create control schemes for games.
Steam should really focus on hiring folks to design the best touch pad +gamepad hybrid controls.
Also , need innate gamepass support.
A way to interact with the desktop features without needing to go into desktop mode.
Put the ssd behind a door ! Easier access.
U put OLED in the title just for the sake.of putting OLED in the title, didn’t you xD?
I want them to allow full ssd sizes and give me a second slot so I can then use my cheaper storage and 2 usb-c ports.
I hated my Switch with a USB C on bottom. It made my life hell when I was playing in bed and had to charge it. (Laying on belly)
I don’t really see a way to accomplish this, but I’d love it if it were lighter. 670g is amazing for what it is, but for long sessions it’s a lot to hold.
2-3x Performance per Watt
I’d rather have a controller with the same controls as the Steam Deck than a Steam Deck 2 right now to be honest.
I think the Steam Deck Oled has everything I was wanting for a future Steam Deck
The only thing would be more power and more resolution.
Well, also an improvement on the back buttons, so they are more comfortable
more power
2 more USB-C ports
(Also) make swapping batteries easierJust that. The software part is always improving, bugs and issues being corrected even in the current model, so we just need to be patient with those.
It’s not a perfect device but I’m pretty happy with it already as it is.
Can we not just enjoy what we have right now?
It does so many things right I’m not concerned with any next gen iterations at the moment.
bigger trackpads
As someone who uses their Steam Deck mainly in bed while placing the Deck on my chest, moving the USB port to the bottom would be horrible for me.
