Can anyone explain to me naming scheme of EPYC server CPUs? How do I know if this is Genoa or Milan or Rome etc. Looks like they don’t follow the typical naming of mainstream CPUs.
Yep, not very intuitive. To be fair, marketing to enterprise and MDC is different than to the consumer. Those companies usually have FAEs who’s job it is to help make vendor decisions.

The 8 here in the first position indicates SP6 vs SP5 ( SP5 is 9).
